Target Background | S100 calcium-binding protein A2 (S100A2) is a small calcium binding protein with 2 EF-hand structures and belongs to the S100 family. Greater than 25 different S100 proteins have been identified on chromosome 1q21. S100A2 is primarily localised in the nucleus with translocation to the cytoplasm. S100A2 may function in protein phosphorylation, enzyme activation, inflammation, cellular contraction and relaxation, and nuclear transcription promoting cell proliferation and differentiation. Recombinant S100 calcium-binding protein A2 (S100A2) with His tag produced in E. coli is a single chain containing 104 amino acids with molecular mass of 11.9 kDa analyzed by reducing SDS-PAGE and is obtained by chromatographic techniques at . |
