Other Names | Pleckstrin homology domain-containing family A member 3, PH domain-containing family A member 3, Phosphatidylinositol-four-phosphate adapter protein 1, FAPP-1, Phosphoinositol 4-phosphate adapter protein 1, PLEKHA3, FAPP1 |
Target/Specificity | The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody AP7499b was selected from the C-term region of human FAPP1. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay. |
Format | Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed. |
Storage | Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20°C. |
Precautions | This product is for research use only. Not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. |
Name | PLEKHA3 |
---|---|
Synonyms | FAPP1 |
Function | Plays a role in regulation of vesicular cargo transport from the trans-Golgi network (TGN) to the plasma membrane (PubMed:15107860). Regulates Golgi phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PtdIns(4)P) levels and activates the PtdIns(4)P phosphatase activity of SACM1L when it binds PtdIns(4)P in 'trans' configuration (PubMed:30659099). Binds preferentially to PtdIns(4)P (PubMed:11001876, PubMed:15107860). Negatively regulates APOB secretion from hepatocytes (PubMed:30659099). |
Cellular Location | Golgi apparatus, trans-Golgi network membrane; Peripheral membrane protein. Note=Localizes to ER-trans Golgi network (TGN) contacts sites. |
Tissue Location | Widely expressed. |

Background
FAPP1 binds specifically to phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate (PtdIns4P), but not to other phosphoinositides.
