Anti-CASZ1 (RABBIT) Antibody
CASZ1 Antibody
- SPECIFICATION
- CITATIONS
- PROTOCOLS
- BACKGROUND
Host | Rabbit |
---|---|
Conjugate | Unconjugated |
Target Species | Human |
Reactivity | Human |
Clonality | Polyclonal |
Application
| WB, IHC, E, I, LCI |
Application Note | This antibody has been tested for use in ELISA, IHC, IF, and western blotting. This antiserum detects endogenous CASZ1 proteins, both the hCASZ5 and hCASZ11 isoforms. Expect a band approximately 125 kDa for hCASZ5 and 190 kDa for hCASZ11 in size corresponding CASZ1 by western blotting in the appropriate cell lysate or extract. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user. |
Physical State | Liquid (sterile filtered) |
Buffer | 0.02 M Potassium Phosphate, 0.15 M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.2 |
Immunogen | This affinity purified antibody was prepared from whole rabbit serum produced by repeated immunizations with a synthetic peptide corresponding to an internal region of Human Casz1 protein. |
Preservative | 0.01% (w/v) Sodium Azide |
Gene ID | 54897 |
---|---|
Other Names | 54897 |
Purity | This affinity purified antibody is directed against human CASZ1 protein. The product was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest reactivity with CASZ1 proteins from human, mouse, Drosophila, chimpanzee, and macaque based on a 100% homology. Partial reactivity is expected with horse and dog CASZ1 based on a 92% homology with the immunizing sequence. Cross-reactivity with CASZ1 from other sources has not been determined. |
Storage Condition | Store vial at -20° C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. |
Precautions Note | This product is for research use only and is not intended for therapeutic or diagnostic applications. |
Name | CASZ1 |
---|---|
Synonyms | CST, SRG, ZNF693 |
Function | Transcriptional activator (PubMed:23639441, PubMed:27693370). Involved in vascular assembly and morphogenesis through direct transcriptional regulation of EGFL7 (PubMed:23639441). |
Cellular Location | Nucleus. |
Tissue Location | Expressed in heart, lung, skeletal muscle, pancreas, testis, small intestine, and stomach, but it is not detectable in the adult brain. |

Background
This antibody is designed, produced, and validated as part of a collaboration between Rockland and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and is suitable for Cancer, Immunology and Nuclear Signaling research. The human castor zinc finger 1 gene (CASZ1) regulates the production of the castor transcription factor, having increased expression when cells of neural and mesenchymal origin are induced to differentiation. CASZ1 is expressed in a number of human tumors and it localizes to a genomic region frequently lost in tumors of neuroectodermal origin. The CASZ1 gene generates 2 mRNA isoforms hCASZ5 and hCASZ11 that could encode proteins containing 5 or 11 zinc finger motifs, respectively. The proteins may be especially labile. Expect a band at 125 kDa for hCASZ5 and 190 kDa for hCASZ11 in fresh lysates.
