Purity Anti-Carbonic Anhydrase II Antibody is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above.  Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum as well as purified and partially purified Carbonic Anhydrase II [Human Erythrocytes].  Cross reactivity against Carbonic Anhydrase II from other tissues and species may occur but have not been specifically determined.
Storage Condition Store vial at 4° C prior to restoration. For extended storage aliquot contents and freeze at -20° C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4° C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Precautions NoteThis product is for research use only and is not intended for therapeutic or diagnostic applications.

Can also hydrate cyanamide to urea (PubMed:10550681, PubMed:11015219). Stimulates the chloride-bicarbonate exchange activity of SLC26A6 (PubMed:15990874). Essential for bone resorption and osteoclast differentiation (PubMed:15300855). Involved in the regulation of fluid secretion into the anterior chamber of the eye. Contributes to intracellular pH regulation in the duodenal upper villous epithelium during proton-coupled peptide absorption.
Cellular Location Cytoplasm. Cell membrane. Note=Colocalized with SLC26A6 at the surface of the cell membrane in order to form a bicarbonate transport metabolon. Displaced from the cytosolic surface of the cell membrane by PKC in phorbol myristate acetate (PMA)-induced cells

Background

Carbonic Anhydrase II Antibody detects Carbonic Anhydrase II. Carbonic Anhydrase II is essential for bone resorption and osteoclast differentiation by similarity. It can hydrate cyanamide to urea and is involved in the regulation of fluid secretion into the anterior chamber of the eye. Anti-Carbonic Anhydrase II Antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Cell Signaling, Neuroscience, Signal Transduction research.
