Dilution | WB~~1:1000 IHC-P~~1:10~50 FC~~1:10~50 |
Format | Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is prepared by Saturated Ammonium Sulfate (SAS) precipitation followed by dialysis against PBS. |
Storage | Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Precautions | AARS2 Antibody (Center) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. |
Name | AARS2 {ECO:0000255|HAMAP-Rule:MF_03133} |
---|---|
Synonyms | AARSL, KIAA1270 |
Function | Catalyzes the attachment of alanine to tRNA(Ala) in a two- step reaction: alanine is first activated by ATP to form Ala-AMP and then transferred to the acceptor end of tRNA(Ala). Also edits incorrectly charged tRNA(Ala) via its editing domain. |
Cellular Location | Mitochondrion {ECO:0000255|HAMAP-Rule:MF_03133, ECO:0000269|PubMed:21549344} |

Background
Alanyl-tRNA synthetase 2 (AARS2) is an enzyme that catalyzes the chemical reaction: ATP + L-alanine + tRNAAla <---> AMP + diphosphate + L-alanyl-tRNAAla. This enzyme participates in alanine and aspartate metabolism and aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis.
