Other Names | Growth arrest and DNA damage-inducible protein GADD45 alpha, DNA damage-inducible transcript 1 protein, DDIT-1, GADD45A, DDIT1, GADD45 |
Target/Specificity | This GADD45A antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 1-30 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human GADD45A. |
Dilution | WB~~1:1000 IHC-P~~1:100 FC~~1:10~50 |
Format | Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is prepared by Saturated Ammonium Sulfate (SAS) precipitation followed by dialysis against PBS. |
Storage | Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Precautions | GADD45A Antibody (N-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. |
Name | GADD45A |

Synonyms | DDIT1, GADD45 |
Function | In T-cells, functions as a regulator of p38 MAPKs by inhibiting p88 phosphorylation and activity (By similarity). Might affect PCNA interaction with some CDK (cell division protein kinase) complexes; stimulates DNA excision repair in vitro and inhibits entry of cells into S phase. |

Background
GADD45A responds to environmental stresses by mediating activation of the p38/JNK pathway via MTK1/MEKK4 kinase. The GADD45A gene is a member of a group of genes whose transcript levels are increased following stressful growth arrest conditions and treatment with DNA-damaging agents. The DNA damage-induced transcription of this gene is mediated by both p53-dependent and -independent mechanisms.
