Storage | Maintain refrigerated at 2-8°C for up to 2 weeks. For long term storage store at -20°C in small aliquots to prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
Precautions | ZNF219 Antibody (C-term) is for research use only and not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. |
Name | ZNF219 |

Function | Transcriptional regulator (PubMed:14621294, PubMed:19549071). Recognizes and binds 2 copies of the core DNA sequence motif 5'-GGGGG- 3' (PubMed:14621294). Binds to the HMGN1 promoter and may repress HMGN1 expression (PubMed:14621294). Regulates SNCA expression in primary cortical neurons (PubMed:19549071). Binds to the COL2A1 promoter and activates COL2A1 expression, as part of a complex with SOX9 (By similarity). Plays a role in chondrocyte differentiation (By similarity). |

Background
ZNF219 is a member of the Kruppel-like zinc finger gene family that is involved in a diverse range of biological processes. ZNF219 is a 77-kDa nuclear protein containing nine sets of C2H2 zinc finger structures. It may be involved in transcriptional regulation, it functioned as a transcriptional repressor for the HMGN1 promoter
