Background
Alien (aka COP9 signalosome complex subunit 2) is a novel co-repressor that interacts with the thyroid hormone receptor in the absence of hormone. Alien is highly conserved between human and Drosophila and is specific for selected members of the nuclear hormone receptor superfamily.
